Bullying Prevention

Creating a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment

The Alvord ISD Police Department is committed to working alongside students, parents, staff, and the community to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Bullying, whether it occurs in person, online, or through electronic communication, can have lasting effects on a student's emotional well-being, academic success, and overall safety.

We encourage students and parents to report bullying concerns promptly so they can be addressed appropriately. Every report is taken seriously and reviewed in accordance with District policy and applicable state law.

Together, we can help create a school culture where every student feels safe, valued, and respected.

What Is Bullying?

Bullying is repeated, intentional behavior that causes physical, emotional, or psychological harm. It may include:

  • Physical intimidation or assault
  • Verbal harassment, threats, or name-calling
  • Social exclusion or spreading rumors
  • Cyberbullying through text messages, social media, online gaming, or other electronic communication

If you or someone you know is experiencing bullying, notify a teacher, school administrator, school counselor, or the Alvord ISD Police Department immediately.

David's Law strengthens protections for Texas students by addressing bullying and cyberbullying and providing schools with additional tools to investigate and respond to incidents.

Reporting Bullying

If you believe a student is being bullied or has witnessed bullying, please report the incident to your campus administration as soon as possible. If the behavior involves criminal activity, threats of violence, or an immediate safety concern, contact the Alvord ISD Police Department or call 911 in the event of an emergency.
